March 11, 2010 --
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Susan G. Komen for the Cure are two of the most trusted nonprofit brand names in America, according to a new survey by Harris Interactive.
Memphis-based St. Jude placed first as the most-trusted nonprofit brand in the survey of more than 19,000 U.S. consumers online in January. Komen was No. 2. The rankings of the charities were reversed in the brand equity category.
Respondents were asked about more than 1,100 brands, and which nonprofit brands were most likely to receive donations.
Dallas-based Susan G. Komen, which raises money for breast-cancer research, is the charity to which people are most likely to donate money, the survey found.
American Cancer Society was second, followed by St. Jude, Goodwill Industries and the Salvation Army.
